What is APM?
Actions Per Minute (APM) is a metric primarily used in Real-Time Strategy (RTS) games like Starcraft II and MOBAs like Dota 2. It measures how many total inputs (mouse clicks and keyboard presses) a player can execute in exactly 60 seconds.
Why is APM Important?
In complex games, you have to manage armies, control economies, and maneuver units simultaneously. High APM means you can cycle through these tasks faster than your opponent, giving you a massive macro-level advantage.
Effective APM (eAPM) vs Raw APM
Raw APM counts every single keystroke and click, even redundant ones (like spam clicking the ground to move). Effective APM (eAPM) only counts actions that actually issue a unique command. While our tool measures raw input spam, professional players focus on maximizing their eAPM.
